WEST
PATERSON - The Silk City Recording Company, in conjunction with Loopy
Loon Productions, Inc., has recorded the most popular and
talented artists that frequent the historic Great Notch Inn in Little
Falls, NJ to create a live compilation album entitled Standing Room
Only: Songs From the Last Roadhouse.
ROADSIDE LOUIE is a true 'musician's musician,' having spent his latter
teens hitchhiking across the country with little more than a guitar and
a harmonica to keep him company. Louie eventually returned to his NJ
roots and formed THE DUSTERS, who have backed such celebrated blues
artists as Homesick James, Snooky Pryor, and James Cotton. They have
also played numerous gigs as a band in their own right, performing at
such divergent venues as the Stanhope House, Medieval Times, and the
Blues 2000 and Beyond Festival. In addition to their high powered blend
of blues and rockabilly, the Dusters are also widely known for their
zoot suits and boleros, which landed them a spot as a runner-up in Delta
Snake Magazine's Readers' Poll for "Most Unusual Stage
Costume."

Snooky Pryor Concert
harp-l-digest
Wednesday, 24 April 1996
Volume 01 :
Number 478
James Hanson
Last
Saturday I went to hear
Snooky Pryor play. He was
backed up by a local
band,
Roadside Louie and the
Dusters. Roadside Louie is a
fine harp
player and smooth
vocalist himself (a slightly
garish taste in clothes, how-
ever - a red suit with red
and white shoes and a white
fedora with
red band.). Even
at 75, Snooky Pryor was
excellent… one of the
old-time
original Chicago blues players.
For
the last two or three songs
of the last set, he brought
Roadside Louie
up to play
some
hot harp
duets.
